Physical Therapist Assistant Student Special Interest Group (PTA SSIG)
Purpose
The purpose of the PTA SSIG is to promote the profession of physical therapy while enhancing the professional education of physical therapist assistant students enrolled at Athens Technical College.
Membership
Active members shall be those students accepted into the physical therapist assistant program at the college. As an active member, students will be expected to participate in scheduled professional and fund raising activities.
Activities
- Promote and maintain the professional image of the physical therapist assistant and the profession of physical therapy on the Athens Technical College campus, in the local community, and at state and national professional conferences
- Promote and maintain a positive presence on the Athens Technical College campus and in the community by participating in service activities and wellness activities
- Promote an understanding of the profession of physical therapy on campus and in the community
- Promote involvement in the state and national professional organizations- the Physical Therapy Association of Georgia (PTAG) and the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
