Purpose
The purpose of SCNAVTA is philanthropy, career networking, and building of leadership skills. Members will increase their awareness of the Veterinary Technician profession through participation in educational events and community activities. Upon graduation, active members in the student chapter will have the opportunity to become members of the professional organization National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (NAVTA).
Membership Eligibility
Membership is open to those students accepted into the Veterinary Technology Program.
Activities
Members are invited annually to the UGA-College of Veterinary Medicine’s Spring Open House with an informational booth to promote community understanding of the Veterinary Technician profession. Members attend various regional or national veterinary medical educational conferences. Members participate in fundraising activities, campus-wide events, and animal-health related philanthropic experiences.
